Mogodi Masenya
We welcome, as a speaker, Mr Mogodi Masenya, a seasoned labour policy specialist and respected public-sector leader currently serving as the Deputy Director: National Minimum Wage Policy and BCEA Administration.
With more than two decades of experience in labour standards, employment conditions, and regulatory governance, he plays a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding fair labour practices in South Africa.
His portfolio includes managing the process of setting employment standards under the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), leading labour market research, and driving advocacy, communication, and awareness campaigns that strengthen national understanding of labour rights. He is also deeply committed to capacity-building, regularly conducting training and education sessions to ensure that employers, employees, and stakeholders are empowered with accurate, accessible knowledge of the BCEA.
Mr Masenya is currently involved in several national priority projects, including the National Minimum Wage Act (2018), the National Minimum Wage Exemption System, ongoing BCEA administration, and Sectoral Determination processes — all critical mechanisms for promoting equity, protecting vulnerable workers, and advancing South Africa’s labour market transformation.
